Process SA-
In this post, I will review the solid-at the beginning of 1980-
Technics SA-
FM-Stereo Receiver
This receiver and integrated amplifier at the beginning of 1980 is an affordable HiFi device that most families can afford.
In the case of rated power of 30 watts per channel, with the early SA-600, but when paired with an efficient speaker, it provides enough power to fill the room.
The input selection is limited to phono, aux, and tape loops only.
The front panel is simple with switch with control power supply, main speaker and remote speaker selection, loudness, tape monitor and FM stereo/Mono/mute switch.
The scan knob controls bass, treble, balance, volume and tuning. The input selector knob is rotating and there is also a 1/4 stereo headphone jack.
Construction quality and aesthetics of process SA

Technics SA-
As the low end of the consumer's HiFi audio price, some of the materials used to make this integrated amplifier housing do cut corners.
The side of the box is a granular plate covered with artificial wood.Probably a vinyl sticker. The top is artificial wood-The same type of grain laid on metal.
The lower side is a perforated mid-fiber plate, about 3/8 thick.
The panel is brushed aluminum, well done and not thin.
The knobs and switches are very good for cheap models, feel high quality, and have a good engagement when switching or turning. The toggle switch is easily and securely stuck into the position with no "ramp" or play.
Scanning knobs such as volume and tone control are a bit heavy for them and feel very solid. The tuner knob has a weighted feeling that if it rotates fast enough, it will continue to rotate half a circle itself.
The input selector knob is firmly stuck into the position each time it is selected without being difficult to turn.
The tuner tailgate is also brushed aluminum and the frequency is easy to read.It is illuminated by white light when the device is powered on.
There is a power light on the left hand side under the tuning baffle, five tuning-There is a "FM stereo" indicator and intensity light on the right.
Overall, this is a simple, easy to see and use front control design.
Because this is notDecorative amplifier, there are few fancy things to choose from on this model. The knobs, buttons and jacks on this amplifier are better than my mid-Range pioneer SX-727.
To some extent, it's almost refreshing not to have to fiddle with this amp.It gives you some sound shaping options, some input, and ways to change the volume. At the end of the day, what else do you need?

Not surprisingly, it's as simple as the front panel.
Antenna connectors are standard split connector terminals using fingersTighten the knob and push the teeth down to the connecting plate.
There are 4 sets of RCA plugs on the back panel.
Phono in.This is where you connect your record player.
Aux in.This is where a CD player, DVD player, Reel to Reel, secondary cassette tape, or any other audio device is inserted.
Tape monitor recording. This is where a signal is sent to a recording device, such as a cassette tape or reel for recording.
Tape monitor playback. This is where the "out" of the device inserted with the "tape monitor record" will be inserted and the input of the device for playing from that device.
When recording output with tape monitor and playback with tape monitor, the device must be able to pass the signal back to the amplifier when using it so that it can be heard.Just use the playback Jack with any playback device such as VCR, CD player, computer or TV.
The tape monitor loop can also be used for online external eq.
Speaker Wire Connector on process SA-The 202 is a clever, easy-to-use rotating design.
Simply insert the stripping end of the line into the hole in the center and rotate the connector clockwise until it is stuck into the level position.

Or proprietary Post-70 pioneer removable speaker connectors that are often lost and difficult to buy.
This is also easier than soldering RCA or banana clips used by some amplifiers to the end of the speaker wire.
There is also Circuit Protection on the back panel 3.0 amp fuse box.If the speaker is unplugged or damaged during use, these fuses help protect the amplifier from damage.
Remove a Phillips screw to easily replace the left and right channel circtuit protection fuse.
Finally, there is an unswitched power outlet with a maximum of 150 v for insertion into the CD deck, cassette deck, or similar low levelDraw the power equipment.
My Technics SA-

I love looking for old stereo and getting the best price on this great old one.

I don't mind if the auction price is too high or someone gets it before me.There will be more to happen and occasionally I will get a good bargain on some things.

Technics SA-
That's how it came to me.
I found this integrated amplifier on eBay and did not book it.
The description says "for parts or not working" but says in the description that it has been "power tested ".This means that it is powered on and is observed as "on ".
I took a chance and the highest bid on it was low.
The auction ended at $9.99, $19 for freight.99.
$30 in total.$00 shipping, I think I might fix it myself at the lowest cost even if it's broken, and if I can't fix it, I only lost $30.00.
It arrived and I plugged it into the CD player and some speakers.Imagine my joy when it turns on the power and powers the two speakers!
The first thing I noticed is that when the volume knob is turned off between the "0" and the "3" position, it causes cracks and pops up.
This behavior is usually caused by oxidation on the potentiometer and switch contacts. There are many products available for cleaning and recovery in the contact area of electronic equipment.

Products such as old motorcycle switches, old audio equipment, old amplifiers and guitar electronics.
I pulled the plug from SA.

Clean all potentiometer and switch. In order to properly apply these products, different stages of disassembly are required for different amplifiers (and other devices.
Fortunately, this is a simple process for me.
The oxidation on the volume knob is very bad on this amp, so 4 applications are needed to solve this problem. The other potentiometer and switches are fine, but when I do this with the volume knob, there is no reason not to clean them up.
Always follow the instructions for any product you use in the process.Failure to do so may ruin your device.
This SA-The 202 looks like it has been idle for a while, and when the volume potentiometer starts making too much noise to the previous owner, it may be installed.
Although dusty, it looks like it has been taken care.Except for the small scratches on the curved part of the volume knob, there are no scratches or stains anywhere on the unit, which is not visible when looking at the front of the amplifier.
Someone put transparent tape on several knobs and aluminum surfaces.I peeled off the old tape and removed the adhesive left with a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol.
I blow the dust off the outside and inside with canned air, ready to test this simple little integrated amplifier.
Subjective listening test of technology SA
Since this is a low power amplifier, I decided to pair it with three different sets of small speakers for listening testing.
Pinnacle PN-
Technics SB-
Sony SS-
Peak PN-60 \'s is a bit big and can be used to call the bookshelf speakers, but in most cases it is small enough to fit on the floor.
Process SB-The R200 is a thin wall mounting design.Although they have nearly 2 feet wide and oneand-a-Half foot high, only 4 inch thick, can hang on the wall or block the road. The design of the small cabinet does limit the lowFrequency response.
The Sony SS-CCP1 is a set of 6 ohm speakers originally shipped with a variety of mini speakersstereo systems. While certainly not electric houses, they sound good, small enough to be placed almost anywhere.

Nine Horses -

Led Zeppelin -

Subjective listening test and technology of 9 horses SA-202.
The music of the 9 horses has a lot of open space, beautifully recorded bass, strings, guitars, vocals for men and women and percussion instruments, as well as some electronic noise here and there.
The SA-The top stone array of 202, nine horses, sounds very brilliant. Not as good as my Harman Karden Hong Kong, but the show was pretty good930.Stereo separation from SA does not seem to be clear202.I'm not sure why, but this may have to do with Harman Kardon providing a completely separate power supply for each channel.Bass on SAHowever, 202 does seem to be more powerful than Haman Caton, while in the middleThe range doesn't sound very smooth.
Listen to nine horses through technologyThe R200 is a different experience. The large frequency hole in the music does indicate that the bass response of the speaker is somewhat lacking. It's not SA's fault-202, though.High and mediumAlthough I prefer the sound of ASR by Carlson of my Stromberg, the range is clear enough433 tube amplifier, SB-through these technologies-R200.
Play nine horses through Sony SSCCP1 provides a reasonable listening experience. When the volume is low, the sound is balanced and pleasant. However, the sound becomes a bit unstable at a higher volume.I think the small speaker is designed to resonate around 60Hz, SA-202 seems to have a small signal bump near this frequency, so boomy-The atmosphere was even more tense.Simple bass and treble control via SA-202. there is no way to adjust the economy-Exit without losing frequency.
Subjective Listening Test of Led Zeppelin and process SA202.
Next is Led Zeppelin, and I noticed a similar problem --Ness with spires and SA-202, though it's more than SS-CCP1 and SA-Listen to nine horses at 202.The sound stage is very good, especially in the translation of heavy instruments so popular in this album.Again, separation is not as good as Haman Caton. But still good.
The SA-202 paired with SBLed Zeppelin really lit up the R200.Record frequency push album, SB-Frequency response range of R200 and SA-The 202 frequency features are really combined to create a pleasant and exciting listening experience. In this configuration everything seems to match well and I was able to push the system to more without changing these features at a higher volume.
Go to little Sony, I have a similar experience with SBR200, but smaller. The SA-202 although the rated power per channel does not exceed 30 watts, it is powerful enough to cook these miniature speakers.6 ohm rating also means power output ratio SA-Compared to other 8 ohm speakers, it is 202 at the same knob setting.
Subjective listening tests by Janos Starker and TechCrunch SA202.
Janos Starker made one of my favorite Bach cello suites.
The SA-202 paired with Pinnacle PN-In my opinion, the performance of 60 is perfect. From subfrequencies to harmonics, from breathing to bow pressure changes, I almost feel Janos with me when I close my eyes.
Both the SB-R200 and SS-CCP1 makes a reasonable sound, but there is a shortage of sub-frequencies, and the tone control of SA-is limited202, without the emphasis on the "boomy" frequency, I would not be able to propose the frequency that is lacking.
Loudness, tuner and final ideas on SA
I did the experiment with the "loudness" control of the process SA-202 see if I can take some trouble offI have experienced this integrated amplifier and the speaker selection I have selected.
The loudness seems to increase the bass frequency more than the high audio rate, and outside of the "1" setting on the volume, there is no positive effect on the sound.
I am unable to use the loudness switch in conjunction with the bass control to change the economic issues in any positive way.
The tuner is very good and receives very strong signals and the stereo separation is very good. The gear on the tuning knob can be tuned very finely to get the best signal possible.
In general, technology SA-The 202 is the classic integrated amplifier released in 1980, and it still uses the 1970 HiFi technology.Even if the material is not "quality", the construction quality is quite good.
While the official rating for each channel is 30 watts, this may be underestimated.Playing through the summit and craft speakers, it was disturbing for me that in a 200 square foot room the volume exceeded the "6" setting.
In terms of sound, it competes with pioneers and similar integrated amplifiers a few years ago to rate them with similar outputs at a price (currently) less than a quarter.
This unit is only 3/4 deep and can be placed on very shallow bookshelves.
If you need to fill a room of 150 to 300 square feet with music and enjoy simple controls and connections, just like the brushed aluminum front bezel and high quality knobs and switches, few receivers can match this technology. The current average price is 202.
A simple but high quality equalizer can be of great help in correcting economic problemsThis amp shows the feeling with some music paired with some speakers.Of course, pairing this amplifier with a larger speaker can eliminate noiseness as well.
I am happy to have this receiver and excited about the price I got it.
