wireless vocal microphone Sing loud and proud with new karaoke titles
The wireless microphone used on the lips is the best feature for other modes of operationof-the-Karaoke games in the MillThe wireless microphone used on the lips is the best feature for other modes of operationof-the-Karaoke games in the MillSingStar Vol.2: Music game.(Developer: Studio London.Publisher: Sony.$59.99 for PlayStation 3 (with microphone ).ESRB Rating: teenagers ).Music games.(Unit: nuclear data system.Publisher: Microsoft.$69.99 for Xbox 360 (with microphone ).ESRB Rating: teenagers ).Rock bands and guitar heroes may now be popular in music games, but don't ignore the simple fun of karaoke games. After all, there is almost no need to explain how to play, and depending on your settings, it is difficult to really lose the game. You may not agree with the way the meter on the screen thinks you are "bad", but that doesn't mean that you can't always be vigilant until you finish the song.Given the increasing popularity of casual games, it may not be a coincidence that karaoke games have expanded from Disney's niche products (featuring Jonas Brothers and their similar products) to all products-The brand version of the Karaoke Revolution (featuring dismissive Simon Cowell ).There is no compilation of Paris night yet, but it may be just a matter of time.If there is any competition between titles, it will be a competition between Sony's SingStar and Microsoft's lips, both of which are recorded using the original artist and available videos.Singing along with the original content may not be a big deal, but anyone who has ever sat in a midi arrangement while watching an average couple frolicking on the beach knows that the cover version may be distracting. When the SingStar series premiered on PlayStation 2, Sony set the standard more or less, and since then the company has done little to break the formula. On PlayStation 3, the latest version of the SingStar volume.2 uses a slightly tilted interface and provides some clearer-HD video. There may be nothing to change as most of the appearance is determined by the video of the individual artist.A visual imprint of the series is how the game registers your sound on the screen, showing individual color blocks that pop up relative to where the notes actually fall. This is an obvious deviation attempt-and-Real scroll bars can be seen in games like the Karaoke Revolution, but for all the additional sound details provided by SingStar's approach, the demo lacks the flow. The biggest change to the PS3 is to increase the number of people online. The user-The generated video is fun in an awkward way, if you have an eye camera for both aggressive and PS3, you can show your performance in a microcosm of YouTube and get other people's comments. But the real attraction is the downloadable songs.Buying personal tracks for music games has always been a tabooBrainer has been around for a while and SingStore has a wide variety of tracks available for download for $1.49 apiece.(The number of songs in the British pop music "Haitian" is amazing, which is undoubtedly the result of Singapore's star's greater success in Europe.) The only downside is that since you are downloading videos and not just songs, it may take a while for the file. But this is a great way to expand your collection on your own terms, especially if you don't like any extended discs (see the SingStar ABBA review, far right ).Microsoft recently released Lips after months of hype. It's an undisguised single-star clone, though there's a more advanced wireless microphone that lights up with the beat of the song.Who wants to bet on the single star roll. Will the wireless microphone show up?) To be fair, there are only so many ways to make karaoke games, and lips try to adjust the formula by playing shorter lyrics on the screen, which makes it more difficult to sing.Lips, like its developers, has the team behind the quirky Gitaroo Man and Elite Beat games. There is some inspiration here and there: clicking on the button on the Xbox controller adds some noise to the fight, like Cowell (sadly Blue Oyster worship is not in the list of featured artists ), activating bonus points requires some exaggerated posture with a microphone. But overall, it's kind of like getting a straight rock album from "Weird Al" Yankovic. The add-your-own-The track function has not reached the level of hype. It's easy enough to put "Don't be afraid of Reaper" into your track list by tearing it up to your hard drive or connecting your MP3 player, however, due to the lack of lyrics or sound tracking on any screen, the behavior of singing is severely hampered (you do get scores at the end of the show ).You can forget to see any video other than screen saver or random CG cutscenes animation. At best, it feels like a stopgap until a rumor is lyricalUpgrade is supported (or until more downloadable content is available in the Lips store ).Still, this is not an unwelcome feature: if you like a song that is uploaded enough, you may know most of the lyrics anyway.Hearing original music that supports you is still a step higher than the quality of some karaoke bars.If you only need to choose one game (which means you can have both the PS3 and Xbox 360) then there is more to get at the moment, because no matter what compromise combination is on the original game disc, it is not enough. While lips's user tracking feature may be promising in the future, SingStar has better online content and complementary discs. But in terms of hardware, those wireless microphones for the lips are a revelation that makes you wonder how we get it by inserting things. Finally, it's stupid to write karaoke games. You can fault all the minor flaws, point out all the ways it could have been better, and even complain that there is no better song. But these are the most fun games between friends (don't sing by yourself; It's a bit frustrating) in the social environment of alcoholOr at least reduce the taboo. Is a possible mitigating factor. In this case, it is better to just enjoy a good time and sing with drunkenness and grace.
